Scissor 'Do Nots'
Store your scissors loosely, without securing the tips or handles in some way. The tips can be damaged, handles bent, and edge nicks can occur.
Cut anything other than hair with your scissors. Hair scissors are intended for cutting hair ONLY, and you run the risk of dulling or otherwise damaging them.
Drop or toss your scissors when putting them down
Torque the handles to push the blades together in order to cut. This will cause excess wear on the scissor's edges.
Allow just anyone to sharpen your scissors. Japanese and German style hair scissors are meant to be sharpened in very specific ways.
